Joy and sadness in South magazine

Two poems by Claire Booker appear in the latest issue of South poetry magazine.  ‘Tomato Soup’ revisits the final months of her father’s dementia, whilst a second poem takes joy in the magical experience of motherhood.  Claire is published along side such poets as A F Patterson, Caroline Vero, David King and Marjorie Sweetko.

The cover of South (issue 45) features a fantastic shot of Brighton’s collapsing West Pier silhouetted against a stunning silver seascape.  This really hits the spot for Claire, who spent her student years at Sussex University and remembers the West Pier in its full glory.  Decrepit wreck?  Tragic has-been?  She know how it feels!
